The crochet moss stitch has always been one of my favorite stitches to showcase hand dyed yarns.  Something about this stitch just really seems to work well with the gorgeous variegated colorways you’ll find your favorite indie dyers whipping up.  The Diagonal Moss Stitch Scarf is a simple scarf intended to showcase 5 (or more) hand dyed colors in an easy, effortless design that will fly off your hook.  Size it up to make a more shawl-like scarf, or size it down to make a cute cowl, this design can be truly customized.

The yarn used for the sample in the photographs is Dover Street Supply Co. superwash merino wool.   You can shop this yarn at www.doverstreetsupplyco.com or by clicking the link.  This pattern is written for DK weight yarns, but as the size is easily customizable, any weight in your stash will work.  Details about the Dover Street colorways can be found in the pattern.  Download the FREE PDF at the bottom of this post!

As always – this pattern is the property of Stephanie Lewis, and is not to be copied or sold in any capacity.  Items created from the patterns can be sold.  If you make a Stained Glass Cowl, I’d love to see it!  Send me an email or tag me on instagram.

Happy Making!
